Photos on a yacht trip in Alanya: planning your own pictures

On the private yacht in Alanya you take your own photos; professional photo and video are not included. Your backdrops, all seen from the water, are the castle rising over its headland, the Red Tower and the caves along the shore. If you want a hired photographer, ask us when you book.

What is and is not provided

There is no photographer or video service in the yacht price. You are free to take as many photos as you like with your own phone or camera, and with only your group on board, nobody else walks into the frame.

Hiring someone to shoot the day is not something we can promise. Ask us when you book whether it can be arranged for your date, and plan your own pictures in case it cannot.

That privacy is the main photographic advantage of the day. There is no need to wait for a crowd to clear from the bow, and you can take a group picture without asking a stranger to help.

The backdrops along the route

Each part of the coast gives a different kind of picture. The captain adapts the route to the sea and the weather, so treat these as likely rather than guaranteed.

The full description of the coastline is in the coast from the yacht.

  • Alanya Castle on its headland, with the walls running up the rock
  • The Red Tower, the eight-sided tower beside the old harbour and the shipyard
  • The sea caves, as the yacht slows down beside them
  • Clear water in the quiet bays where you stop to swim
  • Your own group together on deck, with nobody else in the frame

Who holds the camera at the big moment

For a proposal or a surprise, the photographer is usually a friend you brought into the secret. Decide in advance where they will stand and when, so they are not caught in the middle of a swim.

If you are on your own as a couple, a phone on a small stand set to video can catch the moment without anyone else involved. Our proposal guide helps you choose when that moment comes.

Talk to your helper about what you want afterwards: a few good still photos, a short video, or both. A clear brief is better than two hundred blurred shots and nothing of the moment itself.

Keeping phones and cameras dry

Salt water and spray are the main risks. A waterproof pouch is your own idea to bring; one is not provided on board.

Keep a small towel aside just for drying hands before touching a camera, and stow devices in a closed bag when the yacht is under way. Take most of your pictures while the yacht is stopped or moving slowly.

  • Charge everything the night before
  • Bring a closed bag for devices
  • Wipe lenses with a dry cloth, not a damp towel
  • Agree one person to collect and share the photos afterwards

Photos when the occasion is a secret

Cameras can give a surprise away. A friend who suddenly insists on filming everything is a clue your guest may notice.

Keep the camera work casual until the moment, and brief your helper with the tips in keeping it a surprise. Then book your date on the yacht page.

If you would rather nobody films at all, that is a valid choice too. You may prefer to keep the moment for yourselves and take your photos together later in the day.

More questions

Can the crew take a photo of our group?

Photo service is not part of the day. If you would like a group picture, ask us when you book, or plan to use a timer or a small stand of your own.

Can I take photos inside the sea caves?

The yacht slows down beside the caves, and entering one is never promised. Photos from the deck as you pass are the realistic plan.

Is it worth bringing a proper camera rather than a phone?

Only if you are comfortable protecting it from spray. A phone is easier to keep dry in a pouch and quicker to share pictures from.
