Proposal on a private yacht or a sunset cruise: which suits your question
Choose the private yacht if privacy matters most: only your party is on board for 6 hours, and you pick the moment at a swim stop or under the castle walls. Choose a sunset cruise if the evening light is the point of the plan. Our yacht is not a sunset trip, so you cannot have both on the same boat.
The question behind the question
If you are planning a proposal on the water, you are really choosing between two things: who will be around when they ask, and what the light will look like. The private yacht and a sunset cruise answer those two differently.
Neither is the right answer for everyone. It depends on whether your partner would rather be asked quietly or in a setting that feels like an event, and on how much you mind other people nearby.
What the private yacht gives a proposal
On the private yacht the deck holds only the people you invite, up to 12 guests, for 6 hours. There is no audience of strangers, and nobody you do not know will film the moment on their phone.
Over the day the yacht passes beneath the castle, by the Red Tower and alongside the caves, and pauses in quiet bays so you can swim. That gives you several possible moments rather than one fixed one, and the proposal guide explains how couples choose theirs.
What it does not give you is the evening. No sunset or evening departure is on record for our yacht, and we would rather say so here than have you plan around light that will not be there.
What a sunset cruise gives a proposal
A sunset cruise is built around one thing: the sun going down over the sea. For some couples that colour in the sky is the whole picture they have in mind, and that is a fair reason to choose it.
Before you plan a proposal on one, read how the trip runs and who else is likely to be aboard. Our sister site describes its sunset boat tour in Alanya in full; check the details there rather than taking our word for them.
Keeping the plan secret either way
Whichever you choose, the surprise is lost or kept in the messages, not on the water. Tell the team in advance, write the occasion in the booking form's Requests field, and say who must not see the replies.
On the yacht, the hotel pickup is the moment your partner is most likely to ask questions. Our guide to keeping it a surprise covers the cover story, shared inboxes and what to pack for someone who does not know.
Four questions to settle it
If you still cannot decide, answer these honestly. They usually point clearly one way.
- Would your partner be uncomfortable being asked with strangers watching? Then the yacht.
- Is the colour of the sky the image you have pictured for months? Then a sunset cruise.
- Do you want family or close friends there for the moment? The yacht takes up to 12 guests.
- Do you want time afterwards to swim and celebrate together? The yacht gives you 6 hours.
Our recommendation
Choose the yacht if you want the question asked in private, with time to enjoy the day afterwards; choose the sunset cruise if the evening light matters more to you than having the boat to yourselves. If the yacht is your answer, check dates on the yacht page.

More questions
Can we take the private yacht later in the day for the light?
No sunset or evening departure is on record for the yacht. Your pickup time arrives with the booking confirmation, and we do not promise any particular light.
Which option is easier to keep secret from a partner?
Both can be kept secret if the messages are handled well. On the yacht, the team knows the occasion in advance, so you can agree exactly what the crew should and should not say.
Can we propose on the yacht and go for dinner afterwards?
Yes. The yacht day covers 6 hours on the water with the transfer before and after, so book dinner on land separately, for once you are back at the hotel.
