A honeymoon yacht day and a hamam in Alanya: how the two fit together

A honeymoon in Alanya can hold both: a private yacht day on the water and a visit to a Turkish hamam. The yacht gives you 6 hours on the water below the castle with only the two of you aboard, priced for the whole yacht from €580; the hamam gives you warmth and rest on land. We suggest putting them on different days.

Not a choice, but an order

Unlike the other comparisons on this site, this one need not end with picking one. A yacht day and a hamam are very different kinds of rest, and a honeymoon of a week or so has room for both.

The useful question is how to place them. A day on the water and an afternoon of steam and scrubbing both take energy in their own way, and they are more enjoyable with space between them.

The yacht day: the coast to yourselves

On the private yacht, only the two of you are aboard with the captain and crew. You swim in quiet bays, see the castle from the sea, and slow down beside the caves. The transfer picks you up at your hotel in central Alanya, and nothing is paid online.

For two guests, the price is the same as for twelve. We say that openly: it is a deliberate splurge, not a bargain. The honeymoon guide explains where the day fits in a honeymoon week and what to pack.

The hamam: warmth, steam and stillness

A Turkish hamam is a traditional bath: warm marble, steam, a scrub and foam, and then time to rest. It is a quiet, indoor experience, a calm counterweight to a day of sun and salt water.

If you like the idea, our sister site describes a Turkish bath in Alanya and how a visit works. Read the details there, since we do not set the hamam's programme.

Ways to order the two

There is no fixed rule, but a few patterns work well. The aim is to arrive at each one rested rather than tired.

  • Yacht early in the stay, hamam towards the end, as a last slow day
  • Hamam after the journey to recover, yacht once you have settled in
  • Keep at least one free day between them if your honeymoon is long enough
  • Avoid booking the yacht on your last full day, in case the sea changes plans

When it is an anniversary instead

The same pairing works for couples marking an anniversary rather than a wedding. The yacht can then become a family day, with children or friends aboard, and the hamam stays something for the two of you.

Our anniversary guide covers both versions of the yacht day: a quiet one for two, or a celebration for up to 12 guests.

Our recommendation

Choose the yacht if you want a full day outdoors together on the water; choose the hamam if you want a quiet, warm rest on land; and if you have the time, plan both on separate days. For the yacht, check dates on the yacht page.

More questions

Is a hamam a good idea straight after a day at sea?

We would leave a day in between, so that each feels unhurried. The yacht and its transfers already fill most of one day.

Do we need to book the yacht and the hamam together?

No. They are separate bookings on separate sites. The yacht is booked as a request and paid on the day in euros.

Can we tell the yacht crew it is our honeymoon?

Yes, please do. Write honeymoon in the Requests field when you book, and add anything that matters to you about the day.
